Blackburn AFC was formed in 1955 and have their pitch and pavilion in the centre of Blackburn. The pitch was significantly improved 3 years ago as a result of a grant connected to the development of new housing in the town.
During the last 5 years Blackburn AFC have been promoted twice and won the league cup two seasons ago. Last season they were third in the league, just missing out on promotion and were league cup finalists.
So far this year Blackburn AFC have played 11 games and have lost only once. They currently lie in second place in the Aberdeenshire Amateur Division One East, only 3 points behind the leaders but with 2 games in hand. Their aim this year is to be promoted to the premier division.
Blackburn’s manager, Gavin England said “we would like to thank James & George Collie for their backing and support this season, having supplied us with a new kit which seems to be working wonders!”
