In our October newsletter we confirmed James & George Collie’s sponsorship of Blackburn Amateur Football Club for the 2010/11 season.  We are pleased to report that Blackburn’s season is going very well having collected 52 points from 23 league games and sitting second in the league, 2 points behind RGU, who have played two games more. With two teams being promoted, and Blackburn having only 3 games left to play, promotion is hopefully in sight!

Blackburn also did well in reaching the fifth round of the Scottish Cup and earlier this year narrowly lost 3-2 to Kincorth in the fourth round of the Aberdeen FC Trophy.  This was a very close game and considering Kincorth are sitting joint top of the premiership, the top amateur league, it was a great performance by Blackburn.  If Blackburn can continue their good form for the rest of the season then they hope to be playing in the premiership themselves next season!
