Baker Hughes 10k Run
Baker Hughes 10k Run06 March 2019 Written by James & George Collie

BH6Three James and George Collie employees took part in this year's City of Aberdeen Baker Hughes 10K race on Sunday 23 May 2010. Vivienne Bruce, Hayley Smith and Ryan Openshaw ran in the annual event to raise money for the James and George Collie charity fund. The firm organises and participates in various events to add to the charity fund which is donated to selected charities at the end of each year. Around £250 has been raised from the race alone, bringing the charity total to £1350 at the time of writing.

On an unusually muggy day, the three Collie's entrants raced around Aberdeen's beach and Harbour, each recording an excellent time. A special mention should go to Vivienne who, with a time of 44.32, was the 23rd quickest female of the 4000 or so competitors - quite an achievement! Hayley managed a personal best time of 50.39 and Ryan's time of 46.34 left him just short of his 2009 effort.

As detailed in this e-newsletter, the firm have further fund-raising events in the pipeline. If you have fund-raising ideas, wish to sponsor an event, or simply want to recommend a worthy cause to us, please call 01224 581 581 and ask for a member of the social committee.
